Devon & Devon Hotel Savoia in Trieste

Devon&Devon has been chosen by the architect Elena Carrabs for the architectural restoration and complete restyling of the important Hotel Savoia in Trieste.
The Hotel Savoia Excelsior was designed in an original, eclectic late 19th-century classical style by the Austrian architect Ladislaus Fiedler in 1910, and built during the following two years.
It was planned according to the notion of luxury hotels then in vogue, with an eye to the rising business and upper-middle class clientele. After the Second World War and the damage to the city, the building underwent a lot of changes and in the late 1950s was in many respects restored.

Starhotels, the firm which has been managing the hotel since the 1980s, recently acquired the building itself and in 2006 initiated a programme of remodelling and modernizing the hotel, completely changing the layout and making it once again a luxury hotel with the most refined possible fittings.
This restoration and restyling of the living rooms, the bedrooms and the new furnishings has been undertaken in order to restore the building to its original majesty and impressiveness, preserving as much as possible of its original features.
The luxurious bedrooms are decorated in light colours, with natural light and great attention paid to the details. A most stylish and refined environment which includes even the bathroom fittings, which are modelled on those of the early 20th century, re-interpreted according to contemporary tastes.
The Devon&Devon products suit these surroundings most perfectly.
