A new collection dedicated to a versatile home that is versatile with a penchant for transformation. Signed by Luca Nichetto for GLOBO, the entire project expresses movement and emotion.

A product family of over 50 elements, each one characterized by a strong personality of its own but indissolubly bound, at the same time, to the GLOBO brand identity.

With its long‐consolidated industrial background and its natural inclination for all that is innovative and inspirational, the Italian firm has now earned an international reputation as one of the most creative and dynamic players in the scenary of bathroom design.

Affetto Collection is the name of the new adventure GLOBO has undertaken in collaboration with the Venetian designer; it stems from the idea putting back in its right perspective the (often excessive) bathroom furnishing elements, by putting the accent on the natural shape of sanitary fixtures and the other objects of the collection.

“Affetto responds to basic needs: creating sanitary fixtures in essential forms that concede nothing to superfluous decoration, together with a series of furniture units that well adapt to various spaces and volumes. I drew inspiration from the Modernist movement of the 50’s: nothing is excessive and each and every element finds its rational collocation.” Luca Nichetto

The sanitary fixtures of Affetto are characterized by one uninterrupted surface from the top to the bottom, while slimmer washbasin contours are a natural invitation to an “affectionate” embrace. Pedestal is slender and streamlined, while the unbroken line formed by the design of the wallhung pan conceals the toilet bend.

Basins are available in the monolith version with incorporated top, for wall‐hung, counter‐top or recessed installation, in addition to a small hand‐wash basin.
The Affetto Collection also includes a freestanding bathtub contradistinguished by an essential and linear design.

The bathroom furniture concept, designed for reutilization in the course of time, stems from the consideration that contemporary lifestyles sees individuals changing their homes far more frequently than in the past. In the event of a removal, furnishings that lack flexibility oblige their user to get rid of them.

The furniture units belonging to the Affetto Collection can be quickly moved from house to house since they adapt to various volumetric contexts. Top of the cabinet is made of glossy white‐plated or anthracite‐plated MDF, while legs are in natural oak wood.

Open shelving cabinets as well as the ones provided with doors and drawers are made of varnished MDF and are available in four colours (Tobacco brown, Cool Gray, Aubergine, Grey‐sky Blue). Affetto also includes a basic wheeled system‐base.

Affetto accessories are objects of design that express functionality as well as good looks: a perfect mix of values whose existence is entirely justified
by the important statements they have to make.

The pair of clothes hangers come in Yellow, Coral red, Pink and Turquoise, and the small tables, whether in the stool or bath‐side version, certainly make a novel appearance in the bathroom. Practical, original and versatile, they may be moved around at will to add a splash of colour to various zones of the room.

The toilet brush holder has been designed for maximum functionality of use: user’s hand is “concealed” within the object that is gripped almost as it was a fencing foil. This gesture allows the object to be handled in a way that is extremely simple and clean.

Shelves in three different dimensions, clothes hooks, towel rails, soap dishes, dispensers, toilet roll holders, mirrors in 6 dimensions, waste‐bins with swing‐tops or lids complete the wide accessory line.

Designer Boudewijn Roest won an iF design Award 2012 today for his design of the Lugg basin for the bathroom brand Botinger & Roi.

A new basin that can be customized. The basin itself is available in white and grey. This can be combined with a ring in different colors and finishes.

As shown on the pictures it is also possible to combine the basin with a stainless steel or wooden (oak) ring. For the free standing version there are several colors of the column available. With all these possibilities the user can create his own basin combination.

Another advantage is the possibility to change the ring after a few years to create a new look in the bathroom. The basin doesn ́t have to be replaced. This saves money and it‘s good for the environment.

Introducing the new Natural Stone collection from Omvivo – now available in an extended range of basin and furniture designs.

Responding to the demand from their discerning clientèle including designers and consumers, Omvivo elected to review their stone collection and are now launching a range of basins in new stone finishes that will appeal to a wide audience.

The process involved reviewing the actual stones used, manufacturing processes, hand finished details and consistency. The result is a resurrection of the stone collection in three new solid natural stone options: Noir, Carrara and Sand that will suit a range of budgets.

Noir
A stunning Indian granite that is dark charcoal in colour with a consistent dappled appearance. This stone is extremely durable with a striking appearance.

Carrara
Omvivo’s Carrara is also known as Statuario marble, a superior quality Italian marble from Carrara Italy. It has a beautiful, classical appearance of white with grey veins.

Sand
An Egyptian Marble that has soft neutral sandy tones and feature fossils, quartz and occasional veining.

“There has been a resurgence in the market for interior products which bring nature into the home, providing a tranquil touch. Consumers are moving away from
disposable products that are fashioned and manufactured with a use-by-date.

They are making conscious and considered choices, selecting products that incorporate quality materials and manufacturing with timeless yet unique design. Omvivo’s natural stone offering responds to this need”. Peter Gaw– Manager Omvivo

The following basin designs are now available in Omvivo’s Natural Stone selection:
Latis, Mono, Pond, KL, Cubo and Cubolong basins as well as the signature Geo Washplane®.

Omvivo’s Latis timber trestle is now available in American oak with the option of a Natural Stone shelf to compliment their Natural Stone basin offering.

The ISY by Zucchetti collection, designed by Matteo Thun with Antonio Rodriguez, wins the 2011 Green GOOD DESIGN Award.

The GOOD DESIGN program was founded in Chicago in 1950 by a group of visionary designers and architects, headed by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, as a way to reward innovative and original products and architectures worldwide.

In 2009, The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre added a new dimension to the historic annual GOOD DESIGN program by introducing a separate edition to the annual awards to promote a greater understanding of the need to develop a global design that was not just “Good” but also “Green.”

The Green GOOD DESIGN idea is to point attention on designers, architects, and manufacturers who are making a superior job in terms of protecting our environment, encouraging sustainability and recycling, using smart materials, conserving resources.

A very important achievement for ISY, a product that from the very beginning has made eco-sustainability, materials and energy saving its own strengths.

Presented by Zucchetti Rubinetteria 10 years ago, ISY is a real water management system, a project involving reduction, born to simplify and rationalize shapes and materials. This innovative collection has obtained the highest production efficiency and has been a veritable revolution in the world of taps.

To manufacture Isy 50% less metal than traditional taps is used; thanks to a reduced cartridge the water flow is from 30% to 60% lower than standard values, but however ensures a full and comfortable jet. The packaging is realized in 100% recyclable material, for a minimal impact on the environment.

The Zucchetti.Kos Group has always been sensitive to the issue of environmental sustainability and it constantly researches technological solutions capable of allowing water saving and energy. The primary aim is always to optimize production processes and plants, with particular attention to the preservation of environmental resources.

The Cersaie Trade Show kicks off autumn in Bologna, and this year GRAFF is excited to be a first time participant as they are unveiling a spectacular booth in which to exhibit their products.

GRAFF`s booth, which is just over 200 square meters (or over 2k square feet), is the result of a collaboration between GRAFF and DCube Design. DCube Design`s creativity emphasized the aesthetic and innovative contents of this American company whose brand image is one of luxury and precise engineering in the field of luxury bath and kitchen fixtures.

Davide Oppizzi, the designer who founded DCube Design, described the booth project as follows: “We thought about a space having a strong visual impact, being rich in colors, lights and surrounded by a number of the luxury fixtures presented by GRAFF. The booth is a mixture of best‐selling products and
new items, which, when seen from different angles – conveys intense emotions.” Oppizzi continued, “On the stage we have
multimedia contents and an atmosphere dominated by indirect light: the new lighting concept which emphasizes the technological elements featured by GRAFF`s collections.”

The decision to use DCube design, a Geneva‐based company that primarily specializes in the luxury watch industry and in lighting for prestigious fashion brands, was determined by GRAFF’s aim to combine the luxury world with the bathroom sector.

Thanks to the close partnership with Davide Oppizzi it was possible for GRAFF and DCube to develop the collection AMETIS, a series which distinguishes itself for its elegance and unique shape. In this collection the light becomes part of the product; by changing the faucet into an architectural element and the light into an interior design component.

The introduction of GRAFF`s 2011 collections aims to go beyond the interior design borders in order to face new technological challenges with products that widen the functions and designs offered to the consumer.

What causes people to grow fond of an object and keep it for a long time? We think that one of the secrets is a capacity to select forms inspired by nature, soft, sensuous lines that evoke the harmonious shapes of the human body.

The new Genesis collection is the latest challenge taken up by Globo’s designers, driven by a desire to speak a new language that uses natural forms and smooth flowing lines.

Genesis stands for creation, origin. It is a new way to experience time and space, through objects that make us feel reborn as they awaken our perception of the authenticity of things.

Commenting on the new collection of bathroom fittings and furnishings styled for Globo, the designers of Creative Lab + explain:
“Genesis comprises many elements rooted in ancient traditions, objects inspired by the natural word, that express great respect for nature”.

Thus, Globo breaks with convention and generates continuous, unbroken shapes, shapes fashioned to enter into a new relationship with the human body.
The elements in the collection, all of them one-of-a-kind, original pieces, have been conceived to do away with the formal quality that all too often characterises the bathroom environment.

A new relationship between man, water, forms and materials is embodied in the ceramic, the furnishings and the fittings, which are friendly, beautiful to look at, highly functional.

With the new Genesis collection, the “bathroom environment“ moves into a new dimension, as it derives its innovative quality and unmistakable character from an unusual, creative approach to forms.

Each element has its own story to tell, either directly – through its line and appearance – or indirectly – in the way the object has been conceived and created.

The wide range of proposals makes for absolute freedom in terms of bathroom layout. All the pieces develop from a matrix of “smoothed” geometric forms: the shape of the washbasin brings to mind a rectangle with soft, rounded corners and an ellipsoid base.

The individual elements made from superior quality ceramic, with their gleaming white surfaces, seem to blend together into functional and accessible

works of art, like stones modelled by the erosion of the waves, a perfect antithesis to the cold, formal lines that habitually characterise the bathroom.

The GENESIS collection includes a range of washbasins in different shapes, presented in different sizes and versions: wall-mounted, countertop, pedestal and semi-pedestal, as well as in the free standing and butler’s sink versions. The bathtub and all the bathroom fixtures, in both the wall-mounted and the self-standing versions, match the range perfectly.

Seemingly weightless yet projecting an inherent strength; the design team of Angeletti Ruzza have beautifully conveyed both of these qualities with their new Sento faucet collection for GRAFF.

Daniele Ruzza and Silvana Angeletti are known for designing objects stripped to their essentials, and with the Sento, they’ve created a collection that stands with the best. Function without excess is another hallmark of their design aesthetic and again, in this collection they’ve re‐imagined all the elements of faucet design to give birth to an elegant and wholly contemporary collection.

The simplicity of the faucet is exemplified in its willingness to be stripped of any decorative or seemingly useless design details. It is as a discrete and elegant presence in any space.

“The overall idea of this project – as stressed by Daniele Ruzza and Silvana Angeletti – was to propose a complete system that meets the needs of our daily life, which is made up of multifunctional and versatile objects. It is the representation of the ideal environment which in the end reflects our
simple but essential wishes.”

* SENTO is available in chrome, white and black finish, with the white and black having a matt texture developed with powder coating treatment.

“I can definitely assess that the cooperation with angeletti ruzza design has been characterized by a strong synergy among design, market, technique and engineering. This collection is the successful result of a careful analysis which enabled us to introduce a product, which perfectly meets the market trends and the needs of international contexts, where the GRAFF product is presented”.

These are the words uttered by Emanuela Tavolini, Director of Sales Europe at GRAFF , a careful and dynamic manager who has believed since the beginning in the partnership GRAFF/angeletti ruzza design, being aware that the features of their design studio are an important added value for an international company like GRAFF.

NovaBell presents a preview of the product news the company is preparing for its participation in the International Cersaie trade fair 2011.

CONCEPT is a new surface combining a modern design imprint with traditional craftsmanship. Thanks to the latest digital technologies, successfully applied by NovaBell throughout the last few years, all tiles of the new CONCEPT collection are different one from the other.

This confers a very individual and prestigious look to the floor, which normally can be obtained only by handmade products.

Each colour of the CONCEPT series has been created to evoke a different mood:

- the cotto and mattone colours suggest the homely atmosphere of traditional Italian floor coverings, reinterpreting them in a contemporary style;
- the grafite colour is synonymous of a modern lifestyle and sober style, enriched with a sense of warmth conferred by the formats available;
- the champagne and cenere colours express a pleasant feeling of comfort and naturalness.

The beauty of the CONCEPT porcelain stoneware collection by NovaBell comes along with superior durability, easy cleaning and environmental sustainability. CONCEPT, in fact, is an ecologic floor covering ideal for green buildings.

It is part of the “NovaBell ecosystem” programme, combining tiles with low environmental impact thanks to their elevated content of recycled materials and complies with LEED®, the rating system for green buildings, promoted by the United States Green Building Council. Concept even complies with the Ecolabel European trademark (registration number IT/21/07).

In the architectural field radiators are considered as technical elements with one main function: the heating, so sometimes they are neglected from the esthetic point of view.

The idea of the project ALLDAY, entrusted to the designer Nisi Magnoni, is to create a new radiator that everybody can use “all day” from the morning until the night.

The traditional radiator has been redesigned in a radically new way. Nisi Magnoni has created a system based on a module enriched with many accessories: on a smooth plate there are many holes in aluminium where we can insert magnetized pins used as clothes hook or he can contain essences to perfume the house. You can personalize it whenever you desire creating your own radiator.

ALLDAY want to be a radiator: ideal in the entrance of a house for hanging jacket, helmet, keys but also is perfect in the bathroom used to hang towels, bathrobes and perfumed essences or in the bedroom used to hang clothes.

Is so beautiful thinking that all these accessories can create different emotions, and allow us to forget that it is a radiator who heats.

With ALLDAY the heating is enriched with a new way to experience the warmth during “all day”, re- inventing the traditional concept of furniture.

Regia presents its first collection of modular units: an offering of surprising potential in terms of size and style variants.

Almost a unit-based puzzle with infinite solutions: Niky can be transformed into countless different combinations, all featured in a catalogue that offers a simple play on combinations.

A tangible response at a time when purchases are becoming oriented towards criteria that are more aware of practicality and affordability. Thanks to the detailed design by Bruna Rapisarda, its creator, Niky actually transforms clients into the real designers of their bathroom fittings.

The possibility to select from a large variety of sizes – an affordable alternative to customised pieces – means that different elements can be added together to obtain the perfect mix. We start with a 40-50 or 70 cm washbasin and combine it with 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 cm elements (with doors and drawers), in two depths of 36 and 50 cm and in three heights of 42, 60 and 72 cm.

And there is more: there are a number of different washbasin solutions (tops with built-in basins in glass, Livingtec or Vetroghiaccio, semi-recessed basins and countertop basins in resin or ceramic), matching coordinates (from the washing machine unit, to wall units, to columns, mirrors, accessories, shelves and specifically reworked lighting) and a whole galaxy of proposals for making the best use of the internal spaces, the practical heart of the modular unit.

“In fact, the interiors, which are also highly customisable, provide an intelligent response to a wide variety of personal requirements and this is why they sometimes play a decisive part in the selection process,” explains Bruna Rapisarda, who then continues: “The storage capacity and organisation of spaces helps us to save time and effort, giving us a few more precious moments of relaxation or simply reducing disorder and the resulting stress.”

This is why the drawers can be equipped with internal grilles, of variable configuration, to divide up and contain the storage areas. However, they can also be organised with extractable storage trays or a ready perforated base for holding makeup brushes and eye/lip liners.

The large baskets can hold the laundry bag and be fitted with inner towel rails. And there are also other internal accessories, which can be hooked to the sides, such as hairdryer holders, bottle holders, storage compartments and brush holders.

A Regia modular unit has a number of unmistakable advantages which make it a quality choice. For example, the insides are lacquered like the outsides; the tops are made from glass; the drawer runners have a soft close mechanism; drawers are also available with glass sides; doors and drawers can be opened thanks to the carefully finished 45° cut in the top edge; in this collection, all the back-painted glass tops with built-in washbasins can be ordered in the same colour as the lacquered unit (gloss or matt), or in any of the Regia colours (around thirty).

Niky offers a dynamic approach to bathroom fittings, with its well-structured catalogue involving the retailer (with new software) and the end customer in the development of the most suitable solution, providing immediate answers in terms of price transparency and feasibility.
